The Nap

$3,600.00

Mixed Media on Raw Archival Canvas — Acrylic Paint, Silver Leaf, 22k Gold Leaf, Kirikane
40” H × 30” W — 2026

Description
The Nap was inspired by a conversation with a friend who believes the key to a good life is a daily 30-minute nap—no more, no less. The work traces the pillowy phases of falling asleep, where thoughts soften, forms blur and dreams drift in and out of focus.

At the top, flashes of 22k gold suggest the sunlight still present as the eyes first close. The layered forms descend through deeper, cloudier passages of sleep before gradually becoming lighter again as the dream begins to fade. Silver leaf wraps the composition like a comforter, a protective presence surrounding the sleeper throughout the journey.
